The East Tennessee River Valley, from Chattanooga to the Smoky Mountains, will become the 16th Geotourism Mapguide, and local residents have the opportunity to go online and nominate their favorite destinations.
Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield made the first nomination, the Walnut Street Bridge, which he called “our own personal bridge over troubled waters,” that is a symbol of the city’s rebirth. “We are the most transformed city in America,” Littlefield said.
The map will showcase venues to be of interest to a wide range of ages, interests, activity levels, etc.—as long as they are authentic to the region and good quality.
